The Chicago Youth Service Corps program was launched in 2020 as part of
One Summer Chicago to engage young people as part of the City’s response to COVID-19.
Over the last two years, over 5,000 young people, between the ages of 16 and 24, were
employed in projects focused on developing leadership and empowering a service mindset.

Over the last two years, over 5,000 young people, between the ages of 16 and 24, were employed in projects focused on developing leadership and empowering a service mindset.
During challenging times, research suggests that teenagers feel better when they can turn their attention to supporting others in a meaningful way. Studies have found teenagers who provided the highest levels of social support to those impacted by a tragedy or disaster were the ones who went on to express the most confidence about their ability to face challenges in their own lives.
Chicago Youth Service Corps is a year-round program where youth ages 16-24 earn money while supporting the City. The program offers opportunities for community service, project-based learning and leadership development. Chicago Youth Service Corps celebrates and welcomes diverse backgrounds and encourages you to bring your experience, background, and traditions to your service.
As a Corps Member, you will:
