Our coding program teaches student how to build portfolio with a web application to showcase there newfound knowledge, and our plus program we will be partnering with Walgreen and Marshall to place students to gain customer service skills, inventory,and apparel display.

Asian Human Services will be partnering with DFSS to take part in the One Summer Chicago initiative to provide employment opportunities for the Youth of Chicago. The goal of this program is to increase youth engagement in the workforce and in their communities during the off-school summer season. Our mission is to support, encourage, and prepare individuals to achieve economic self-sufficiency and an improved overall quality of life. The ERC staff focuses on providing assistance that will lead our customers to finding sustainable career opportunities and managing their finances responsibly.

SER will be hosting the One Summer Chicago program connecting youth to a successful future with a summer job. SER intends to enroll 233 youth participants and placed them at various worksites for 6 weeks where they will be practicing workforce engagement skills on the job, completing energizing warm-ups and trust building exercises. Participants will also be participating in civic engagement projects and job readiness workshops.

Chicago-Lawndale AMACHI Mentoring Program's collaboration with One Summer Chicago is dedicated to providing youth with skills, opportunities and life changing experiences. LAMP places youth in various agencies throughout Chicago. Employment opportunities and placement are based on youth experiences and interest. Participants will learn about the Stax record label, an American originally based in Memphis, Tennessee. Students will learn about the artists who recorded there, the music & the history of Stax. Performances will include singing and playing the music of Stax record artists.

Children's Home and Aid will be employing 80 young adults, ages 16-21 years old. Through OSC PLUS youth will be placed at a worksite location. Once placed, youth will work a total of 20 hours per week Mon-Thurs & have outings with their Mentor on Fri. Youth are paid an hourly wage. We will employ 40 young adults, ages 14 & 15 years old. Through Chicagobility youth will complete a Mural at Ogden Park & work Mon-Thurs with outings on Fri. Youth are paid a weekly stipend.

YOY begins with a 2 week pedagogy and social justice oriented training for the 15+ college young adult facilitators (and some older high school students).

A summer program with stipends to help keep our youth off the streets.
